the Phoenix: La Belle Dame Sans Merci
Since arriving in the City with the Warlord, the Phoenix has spent most of her time playing games with him. Now that he’s gotten bored with her, she’s forced to look for her challenges elsewhere.
Among her attempts at distracting herself are the training of magically-inspired individuals she has found. Once their training is complete, she turns them loose in the City and procedes to hunt them down. The most recent of these, known as the Blue Lady, is still alive and this brings her a great deal of satisfaction.

The Blue Lady knows that she had a name before the Phoenix decided to “take her in,” but she does not know what it was. Since leaving her teacher’s protection, she has been ruthlessly hunted by Merci’s minions and employees.
She lives downtown, spending a lot of her time in an abandoned church known as Our Lady of the Blue Roses, and this is where she takes her name. She spends much of her time helping people, protecting them from the Kids and other dangers and teaching new people about the City.
She is attended by two people originally sent to kill her, Ling & Yue.
Ling & Yue
Ling and his partner Yue were pulled into the City by Merci moments before they would have died in their homeworld. Their devotion to each other is flawless and their newfound devotion to the Blue Lady is nearly so.
Yue was not pleased when she and Ling were summoned to serve the Phoenix, but they did the job – until Yue discovered that the Witch intended her to take the Blue Lady’s place in her service. Since parting ways with Merci, Yue has begun serious training in the use of her talents.
